Secondary Traumatic Stress and Supportive Practices for Supervisors


Description
In this course, we will learn more about the signs and symptoms of secondary traumatic stress in staff and how to know when a staff person needs support related to their direct service work. We will also discuss strategies to respond as supervisors and support that can be put in place to buffer stress exposure for our teams.

The participants will be able to:
• Demonstrate understanding of secondary traumatic stress
• Identify signs and symptoms that may or may not show up in staff
• Analyze/decide when intervention or support is needed
• Describe various strategies for intervention and support
• Apply strategies to support staff who are experiencing STS
